Today, the City of Bentonville’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Community Task Force and Downtown Bentonville Incorporated (DBI) announced “Bentonville Together: A Celebration of Our Multicultural Community.” This one-day festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 4 pm – 9 pm on the Bentonville Square.

The Bentonville DEI Community Task Force, in partnership with DBI, will produce this free, family-friendly event showcasing and celebrating the music, dancing, food, art, and diverse activities for attendees to learn, taste, and experience the many cultures who call Bentonville home. 

The event is presented by PepsiCo.

Live entertainment featuring various multicultural performances will be showcased on the mainstage starting at 4 pm. Performances include Bentonville West High School Band, Fred Astaire Dance Studios, Mariachi Amistad, Island Pacific Dances of NWA, Ra-Ve Cultural Foundation, Dhirana Academy of Classical Dance, and Adrija Dance Academy.

The band Jukeboxx will close out the evening with a concert at 7:45pm.

Guests are invited to participate in a community art project created by the Bentonville History Museum, titled “Building Community One Piece at a Time.” This exhibit will include puzzle pieces painted by the community and fit together to form a mural.

A festival t-shirt will be available for purchase to commemorate this special event. More than 300 designs were submitted, the vast majority which came through Bentonville Schools students, and a selection committee composed of community members selected a winner. The winning design will be featured on the event t-shirt, and many of the designs will be showcased at the event.

In addition to the mainstage and art piece, several organizations will offer different cultural activities for the community to experience.

All are welcome and no tickets are required for this event. This one-day festival aims to provide an opportunity for Bentonville residents to celebrate their respective cultures and introduce them to other local families, ultimately increasing awareness about the many groups represented in the area.
