National Farmers Market Week is an annual celebration that highlights the vital role farmers markets play in the nation’s food system.

Help us celebrate the Bentonville Farmers Market from August 7 through 13th by learning, engaging with the market, and showing up to our National Farmers Market week events.  

Did you know that the Bentonville Farmers Market originated in 1977 as Round the Square? This event was designed as a community gathering and invited anyone with anything to sell. Imagine a garage sale style event including art, produce, home cooked food and more. It was a community expression created by J. Dickson Black and it was a huge success. The event changed, grew, changed again and became what we know of as the Bentonville Farmers Market.

Today, our Bentonville Farmers Market includes 30 Saturday markets, 22 Thursday evening markets, a year-round virtual farmers market, and an off-season Market @ Record.  

In order to recognize the history of our market and the growth that it’s experienced over the years, we are hosting multiple events for the community.  Please join us to celebrate!

Event: POP! Club program 

Date: Thursday, August 11th and Saturday, August 13th

All children (kindergarten through 5th grade) will receive $2 vouchers to spend on fruits and vegetables at the market, allowing them to make healthy shopping decisions.  Alongside the $2 coupon, participants will be able to engage in fun educational activities at the POP! Club Program tent on Main Street. 

These activities are first come first serve.

Market cash is back!

Downtown Bentonville Incorporated (DBI) will be handing out $2,000 of “market cash” during the Thursday, August 11th and Saturday, August 13th farmers markets.

Here are the rules:  Market Cash is limited and offered first-come, first-serve to attendees.  Please come to the DBI information booth to request Market Cash.  

Market Cash will be distributed in $10 increments, only one available per family. Shop the Market is sponsored by Bentonville Farmers Market sponsors Angelie and Eataverse.

$500 will be distributed at the Thursday market.

$1,500 will be distributed at the Saturday market.

When can you get Market Cash?

Thursday Bentonville Farmers Market runs from 5pm to 8pm. 

Saturday Bentonville Farmers Market runs from 7:30am to 1pm.

Both Markets are located on the Bentonville Square. 

Market Cash is limited and offered first-come, first-serve to attendees. Please note that not all attendees will receive Market Cash.

Alongside the virtual market, Downtown Bentonville Incorporated hosts an indoor market in the farmers market off-season. More information will be announced this fall, but mark your calendars for the return of the Market @ Record on Saturday, December 3rd.  Market @ Record runs December through March.
